How to Order Hoofwings (Printable)

Have these materials ready before you begin: Two sharp pencils, (one pencil must be short enough to pass under the horses fetlock). Several pieces of 8-1/2" x 11" white paper. A smooth level surface. (A piece of plywood 14" x 17" is adequate).

(1). Draw an accurate outline of a hoof. Hold the pencil is straight up and down.  It helps to "eye" down the pencil.

Tip: Have a helper hold up the horses opposite leg.

(2).  Draw the weight bearing surface.  Angle the pencil.

Tip: Move the pencil back and forth several times to get a good line.

(3).  Draw the outline of the bulbs.  Use the short pencil.

Keep the pencil straight up and down

When you're finished there will be two lines.  The outline of the weight bearing surface and the bulb line.

Mark the outline with the initials of the hoof as shown.

(4).  Wing measurement.   Place the tape measurement as shown on this hoof.  Start and end points of tape should be approximately 1-1/2" (one and a half inches) from the bottom of the hoof.  The wing measurement for this horse's hoof is 15 inches.

(5). Height of bulb (Coronet band to ground)

(6). Length of bulb (From back of ankle to end of bulb)

Note: Before you fax your information draw a line across the widest part of the outline.  Measure that line.  Write that measurement on the line.  (This measurement is to make sure the image is not reduced during the fax transmission).

Fax the outlines and measurements to: 520-455-5171.  Or mail them to: HorseSneaker Hoofwear   P.O. Box 433 Sonoita, AZ  85637.  If you're good with computers you can scan your outlines and measurements.  Save them as either a .jpeg or .pdf file and email to: hoofwings@horsesneaker.com.
